The course provides basic knowledge and practical use of modern equipment for management, safety directors and medical personnel. Manual and microprocessor audiometers are provided for participants' use during the course practicum. A written examination is required. However, you can request an extension up to 30 days before the date of expiration on your certificate. To verify with CAOHC that your certification is still valid, click here. To request an extension, click here. Participants, not MEDI, are responsible for ensuring eligibility for recertification.
ATTENTION: CAOHC has recently made significant changes to its certification and recertification examination procedures. Due to these changes, MEDI strongly recommends reviewing material provided by CAOHC on their website (www.caohc.org) prior to attending the course. To find out more about these changes in the examination process, please read Kathryn Deppensmith's article here.
Beginning January 2021, you will now be required to bring a laptop computer or tablet to the class in order to take the final exam (CAOHC no longer permits the use of paper exams). If you are unable to bring a laptop or computer to the class, please let MEDI know as soon as possible.
